Ngāti Tauaiti hapū was joined by various uri of Tauranga Moana over the weekend to celebrate the opening of their marae which was laid to rest in 1982.

Ngāti Māhanga and Ngāti Te Wehi uri, Merepaia King, has been sworn in as a permanent judge of the Employment Court on her marae, Te Papa o Rotu, in Whatawhata.
Ms King was a partner in Buddle Finlay, after starting her legal career in 2005 at Tompkins Wake in Hamilton.
She has specialised in employment and health and safety law.
