E kore te pātiki e hoki ki tōna pūehu - The flounder does not return to its dust

This whakataukī is about learning from our mistakes and trying hard not to repeat them. But how easy is it to make mistakes when speaking te reo?! Making mistakes is part of the journey and Te Onekura is here to help you build your reo confidence along the way.

"People are special. So moko, we only use 'TOKO' when we are talking about people and how many of us there are. But don't forget you can only go all the way up to tokoiwa."

We all learn differently, and our hope is that Te Onekura inspires lots of ‘aha!’ moments. It’s about going at your own pace and adding to your reo toolbelt.

See how you can improve the use of your reo Māori using the resources on our website https://www.tupuora.co.nz or search for our TupuOra YouTube channel.
